eroded metal

metallic skirt, bcbg . necklace from istanbul . vince camuto boots . prada folding wayfarers c/o sunglass hut

getting away from the city every now and then reinvigorates my love of photo shoots. wide open spaces and the ability to take your time on each shot makes me happy in a way all you techy nerdy bloggy girls i'm sure can appreciate. plus, vesper gets to run all around and get puffy tailed from excitement. always cute.

i'm normally not all about tight skirts but made an exception for this one from bcbg. i love the 'eroded' look and bronze-ish, silver-ish shade of the metallic effect. paired with a too large sweater helped make it much more my style. i definitely adhere to the rule of not putting all your 'goods' on display at any one time.

have a fun new year's eve everybody!

christmas time in new york

christmas time in new york. the city is prettiest when decked out with colorful lights and decorations. probably one of my favorite things about this time of year because it makes for great photos.

wander[lust]

new york is filled with interesting juxtapositions. like a drizzly december day that is remarkably mild and warm, considering what one might expect of december weather. in new york, it's good to stay on your toes, be ready for anything, whilst never letting go of your personal style.

this post is part of the sienna ray wander[lust] blogger project that i am very happy to be a part of. the look is inspired by my new makayla handbag in mimosa. it is made from the softest, vegetable tanned leather -- a fact which makes me particularly happy as i am all about vegetable tanning vs. traditional chemical tanning. stay tuned for part 2 of vogue gone rogue & wander[lust] coming soon!

juxtaposed

mixing flowy, feminine silhouettes with edgier items like buckles and leather jackets is one of my favorite ways of putting an outfit together. duality and juxtaposition give things an interesting quality -- everything, not just fashion. just look at the location these photos were taken.
there's a certain harmony that occurs from acknowledging both sides of your personality in one outfit that makes me feel very comfortable in my clothes.

museo novecento

i'm a huge fan of museums. particularly the ones that aren't assholes about letting you take pictures inside. right before matt and i left milan to return to new york, we went to the museo novecento, which had just opened at the time. though it can't boast the size of the met, it's a pretty fantastic spread of art from ancient times to ultra modern installations. oh, and can we discuss that zebra head with neon numbers? uselessly fantastic.
we spent hours frolicking among the different levels. i was particularly pleased when i walked in the middle of the room sporting sculptures of heads on poles. super eerie.

as for my outfit: bershka shorts . jeffrey campbell x lf store "it" shoes . zara dress that i shrunk in the wash and turned into a shirt . tory burch sunglasses c/o of sunglass hut . and arm warmers which i absolutely adore from some little no name shop in milan
